The new year is fast approaching! The days are just flying by with all the excitement.
My youngest son has been sick the entire break so far and we just found out today that he had pneumonia. It has really knocked him off his feet. We are working on getting him back to himself but it involves lots of cuddles.
I should hopefully get back to a regular writing schedule soon. I have a series to write afterall :)
My favorite reviewer (My daughter) is going through book one now.  I am looking forward to what she thinks. I can always count on her for honesty.
I am also making good use of the time we have before she heads back to school in January.

A chance meeting between two young souls is all it took...

When Adalynne Fairweather was just a child, her entire life had already been planned. From Ivy League schools to a career in law, adventure was the one thing out of her reach. That was until a boy with bright green eyes and a monster truck t-shirt wandered into her back yard, giving the adventure she longed for.

Refuge can be found in the most unlikely places…
Damon Knight’s abusive home life left him longing for a childhood he never had—until he wandered into Adalynne’s yard. She took his hand, smiled at him, and even gave him a nickname. Fox. The woods became their escape—a place to flee from reality. He discovered music through Adalynne’s piano, and not long after that, she gave him a guitar. Little did he know that gift would change his life forever.

Years later, their age is not the only thing that’s changed...

Adalynne’s love for Fox took on a life of its own. As they begin to build their lives, her heart aches for him in ways she can’t understand. As they slowly begin to drift apart, Adalynne becomes more desperate to cling to their secret romance.

But Fox is no longer the bright-eyed child from the woods. Her shy, beautiful Fox has grown into a dark, troubled man with a guitar. And when her last attempt to salvage their relationship breaks Adalynne’s heart, catching Fox a second time seems just out of her reach.

What I am writing now...

I have been making good progress on my romantic suspense I have been working on. I am wrapping up what will be the first draft of book one. It is my first attempt at a series. I am really excited about it.
It has several points of view as the story unfolds. Today I finished up a chapter from the dark character. My tendency is to to dive right into just how evil he is...I am not sure if I am pushing the boundaries too far but I really want readers to love to hate him. What do you think? Here is a little sneak peek...

"John let a sly smile curl his lips before he looked down at his hand. He ran his fingers over the rings that lined his fingers. He slowly turned them, lining the emblems up on the inside of his open palm. He looked up to see Mary watching him with a desperate plea in her eyes. John reeled his hand back and slapped his open palm across Mary’s face. Her scream excited him. He had always reveled in the sound of her cries. It had been too long and his groin responded in hot fury. Blood dripped from her lip, running down her chin and dripping on the exposed skin on her chest before sliding down toward her cleavage. His drank in the site like the sweet taste of liquor that warmed his stomach. He would never let her leave him again. She was his and he would make her pay for turning on him."

One Day At A Time...

So I'm still moving along, trying to make people aware that my books are out there in the big world of many, many books. It really comes down to a popularity contest. You have to get people to like you and for me, well...I have been happy staying behind the scenes most of my life. Anyone who knows me well would know this has been a big step out of my comfort zone.

I am hoping I will eventually get to a point where I don't feel like I have to be waving my hands in peoples faces all the time. Marketing is a sport for the aggressive, a personality trait I do not have so it feels exhausting and truthfully sometimes I wish I could go back to blissfully writing for myself but then all this work would have been for nothing. Trying to establish myself as an author feels like I'm a loser in high school and I am trying to make the cool kids like me...Ugh. I know I have to keep pushing forward and see what is waiting for me on this journey. So every day I keep fighting for success.

I really am happy where I am, about to release my third book. CATCHING FOX comes out in a week and a half. I am wrapping up my first book in my first attempt at a series. It feels really good. I love that my children are always asking me about my books. They are proud of me and I love that they see me fighting for this. When I finally do get to the point where I can feel like I am successful it will be an amazing feeling. For now I fight every step of the way. I've met some amazing authors who assure me that I am on the correct path even though it doesn't feel like it most days. Good thing when it comes to my writing I am stupidly determined!

I want to make sure I leave my mark on this world so when it is all said and done I want to be able to look back and say "Stick It!" To everyone who doubted me. HAHA joking! I will most likely be crazy by the end of this so I could be saying anything at that point but hopefully people will be reading my books! :)

Some of my favorite reviews of TRUTH OR DARE!

TRUTH OR DARE

“Have you ever read a book that you just couldn’t put down, no matter how many times you try? No matter what else you might have to do? I read Truth or Dare by Aimee McNeil and this happened to me. I could not put it down...” 5 Stars, CBAvidReader

This is the first book that I've read from this author and I am already looking forward to the next.
Author Aimee McNeil's Truth or Dare is a well written story about a young woman's discovery and path to true love...” 5 Stars,
Author Kim Black/TOJ Pub Services

After the first few pages I wasn't sure this book was something I would be interested in. All I could think is great, another story about a poor woman struggling to make it and a HOTT guy who is going to swoop in and save her.... I was SOOOOO wrong!!!...” 5 Stars, Tiffany Thompson
...and this is why I cannot grocery shop when I am hungry. Bad decisions! Oops! ...ummm chocolate covered pretzels :)

Alluring Song

I did up some new teasers for ALLURING SONG.
http://www.amazon.com/Alluring-Song-Aimee-McNe…/…/B00Y1THTYG
If you like fantasy romance this might be of interest!
Here is a peek at some of my favorite reviews...
"Upon starting this book, I was immediately swept up in the story. It was beautifully written - almost poetically so - and it read like a bit of a fairy tale for older teens and adults." 5 Stars, Electively Paige
"Oh, my goodness!!! Where do I start? This is one of the best debut novels I have had the pleasure of reading!
The world-building was phenomenal and it succeeded in making me forget about reality. The alternating point of views of many characters might seem confusing but it isn't! Every POV was intriguing in it's own right and they kept me wondering who the story was going to lead me to next! The multiple point of views make the story so much more beautiful and captivating than it already is. There wasn't a dull moment! It's all action and betrayal plus love, pure and loyal. Every person is dealing with different problems but their lives are all deeply intertwined. Watching it all play out was a thrill like no other." 6/5 Stars, Cassandra Carpio
"Aimee McNeil is a wonderful writer, her descriptions of the settings are gorgeous - you feel like you're really there among the plot and the characters jump to life off of the page! Lorelei is a lovely, layered, complex person who is surprisingly relatable considering all the magic surrounding her life. Although there is violence and brutality within the pages, as the story line unfolds it becomes necessary to understanding the explosive ending." 5 Stars, Samie Sands
