Reviews for Alluring Song

Here are some quotes from some of the lovely people who read and posted a review for Alluring Song!

"While reading Alluring Song the only word that came to mind through the entire book was that it was just Magical. I loved the plot and all the characters roles in the story. It all went together so well." Goodreads review

"Upon starting this book, I was immediately swept up in the story. It was beautifully written - almost poetically so - and it read like a bit of a fairy tale for older teens and adults." Goodreads review

"This book is a bit of an emotional roller coaster that leaves you guessing what will happen next until the very end, I give it an A+!" Goodreads review

"Aimee McNeil is a wonderful writer, her descriptions of the settings are gorgeous - you feel like you're really there among the plot and the characters jump to life off of the page!" Goodreads review

"6/5 stars! Oh, my goodness!!! Where do I start? This is one of the best debut novels I have had the pleasure of reading!" Goodreads review

Random Things You May Not Know About Me...

  1. I love chocolate in the morning. It tastes better if it is the first thing I eat. Not the fancy kind either just old school milk chocolate. Like those cheapy boxes of rosebuds or macaroons. Yum!!
  2. I am a neat freak. Love my house to be clean :)
  3. I do not like ice cream or candy. It's not like I think they taste bad but I do not enjoy them enough to eat them.
  4. I do love fruits and vegetables. If I could only eat from one food group for the rest of my life it would definitely be this one.
  5. I believe in ghost and aliens. Because why not?
  6. Love to write while listening to music. Music is very inspirational.
  7. I became a mother before I was legally able to drive. My baby girl was an early present and we grew up together. She showed me what was important in life and I never looked back.
  8. Love tea. Love a cup of tea! It's always comforting and relaxing. I don't like coffee. I don't even like the smell of it.
  9. I am a horrible liar. This is something I have never been able to master. I have too many tells.
  10. I love traditions. Of every kind.
  11. I don't like talking on the phone. I like to see the people I talk to.
  12. Love to dance. I have been known to blast the music and dance for no reason ;)
  13. Summer is my favorite season. Love the heat and hate the cold.
  14. I like to plan and prepare for things. "Winging it" is not my style. Although I do envy people that can.
  15. I have been cursed with delayed wit. I always think of the best things to say after the fact.
  16. Love to paint. I love art.

It is amazing how fast days can fly by.
I can remember when I was young...
Days felt long and summers were endless.
Now, every moment feels fleeting.
I think time is playing tricks on me and speeds up when I'm not looking.
If only I could go back to when time stood still.
I would be so much more productive!

 Darkness Lurks Book One
Emily McPhee has struggled to overcome her father’s death...
It’s not easy, but Emily finally has the life she wants. She’s an A student at Orange University and has a comfortable home and a great circle of friends. She’s also in love with handsome Orange PD officer Seth Connors. He doesn’t seem to return her feelings, though, so she tells herself his friendship is enough.
Jimmy Lasko is a psychopath, and Emily is his greatest obsession…
Lasko knows what he wants—what he deserves—and has the deadly skills and unending patience to get it. What he wants is Emily, and he is watching and waiting for the perfect opportunity to strike. That time is coming soon; he’ll make sure of it.
A sense of unease settles on Emily, but is the danger real or imagined?
When Emily begins hearing noises and suspects someone has been in her house, Seth urges her to get a roommate. But after a search, she realizes a certain attractive cop would be the perfect choice, and Seth moves in.
Seth loves Emily, but fears his feelings might make it difficult to protect her.
In all areas of his life, Seth sees himself as a protector. He’s determined to keep Emily safe, but he pushes the captivating blonde away in an attempt to stay objective. However, after her stalker makes a failed attempt to capture her, Seth can no longer deny his feelings.
With help from Seth’s police colleagues, he and Emily set out to identify the person hunting her before it’s too late. But is it worth the risk to bait the trap with what he wants most?

Back In Action

My children are back in school! Bring on some serious writing. Nothing can stop me now...well except for all the other things I need to get done during the day...

Though it is nice to have quiet to sit down and put some thoughts together for a few hours.

My house is sooo quiet!

Yesterday was actually the first day back at school for the boys but I had a bunch of things that needed to be done, I was running around the entire day.

Since I have started the whole publishing process with my first book, Alluring Song, I have put a lot of work and money into this whole endeavor. Though I have not made any profit to date I am hoping that I will eventually reach a point where that changes. It seems like forever away but so did finding a publisher and that happened... so I will continue working away!

There is sooo much more to writing than putting a good book out there. There is a lot of marketing involved. Your product is only as good as your marketing...this explains why I fell on my face for Alluring Song despite the wonderful reviews it got.

Thank god my husband loves me because I am investing so much time into something that has yet to prove profitable. He is a business man and I have a feeling that he is just shaking his head at me and wondering why I do this. Truthfully...I have no idea. The crazy things we do for love!!

Who needs money anyway ;)

Ready To Take On The World

Yesterday I dropped my first baby off in another province to start her university experience.
I won't get to see her now until Thanksgiving.
I am so excited for her...but I miss her already.

It is so strange to think that she is now off on her own. For the last eighteen years we have been together and now she is taking the reins of her life and heading in her own direction.
I'm so proud of her. She is a determined young woman.

As much as it is hard to let go, it is a wonderful day when your child heads off with a bright future ahead.

WOW!...busy

The end of the summer has been a bit of fun crazy. We decided last minute to spend last weekend unplugged and rented a cottage for a weekend of swimming, fishing, canoeing and campfires. It was lovely to get away BUT now I am trying to get everything in order...

I just finished dying my daughters hair purple...yes purple. We are getting her ready to take to school this weekend. I am dropping her off with the hopes that she will survive the next few years of university. I'm terrified!

I am currently attempting to organize my own tours, and promotions for my new book coming out this fall "Truth or Dare". Normally an author would pay a PR tour company to organize these events. Since I had put so much money into my first self-published book, Alluring Song, without properly marketing it I am attempting to do this stage of the process myself. I may realize I am insane by the end of this...
Since I am a stay-at-home mother, I cannot justify investing more money at this stage because I have no idea what the future holds. At least now I have someone to help guide me along the way if I have any questions, the lovely team at Limitless Publishing.
This is a very time consuming and tedious process. Yikes!

I am also trying to squeeze in some time for my new book. I miss you writing!! Unfortunately a huge part of being an author is marketing your book which tends to be anti-productive to writing.
I also have a bunch of paintings I need to get done as well...
I am looking forward to getting back on to a regular schedule when my boys go back to school next week.
